Central Queensland Power

Energy Estate and RES are collaborating to create a portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage system projects exceeding 3GW capacity, aimed at advancing the decarbonisation of energy consumption in central Queensland.

Our portfolio will support large energy loads in Gladstone such as the Boyne smelter and facilitate the rapid development of a green hydrogen export industry in Gladstone. CQP's projects have been designed to provide cheap, reliable power and we are working closely with all stakeholders to optimise the outcome for the State as well as energy users.

CQP currently has over 1.3 gigawatts of wind and 1.2 gigawatts of solar power under active development at seven locations throughout the central Queensland region. Additional projects are being evaluated for their ability to meet CQP’s objectives of deliverable projects that provide cost-efficient energy to the region.
