Doug brings a broad perspective of the renewable energy sector to the Energy Estate team with ‘front line’ experience in utility-scale PV (development, EPC, finance and investment) and module sales as well as business management and growth experience. He advises clients on a variety of matters including strategy, M&A transactions, offtake agreements, project delivery, asset management, business management, growth and operational improvements with a sector focus on solar, EVs, EV charging, hydrogen and energy storage.
Prior to joining Energy Estate, Doug established the Hanwha Energy IPP business in Australia, building its M&A pipeline and defining strategy for the retail business. His previous role was Head of Solar for RES Australia where he launched their utility-scale PV business, establishing a national pipeline that included the Emerald Solar Farm which secured a market-first Corporate PPA with Telstra. Doug was also instrumental in establishing Trina Solar’s Australian business in the region, initially as Sales Manager and then as Country Manager. Doug joined the renewables sector in 2010, managing sales and marketing for BP Solar in Australia/NZ. He was elected by industry peers to the CEC’s Solar PV Leadership Committee for many years and has served as a CEC Board Member.
