This is a critical intervention from the industry superannuation sector, as the volume of funds under management have the potential to heavily influence and direct the future energy transition. The sector is now signalling it intends to use that weight to shape the pubic policy debate, and the growth of the clean energy sector. It is also a fresh opportunity for greater engagement by the clean energy sector with super funds as the energy transition continues to accelerate in Australia.

A great review Simon, but not so sure we should dismiss the nuclear push implicit in the report (which I have read in full). The failure to exclude nuclear in Australia on economic grounds alone (at least in the investment period of the coming decades) suggest that there is failure of understanding of come core issues. The continued references to 'baseload' (a business model not a technology) is an indicator that the ISA needs to do a more talking & listening to a broader base of advisers. The alignment of views in this report to those who have been actively opposed to decarbonisation of our energy systems (not just electricity) is a concern to me at least.
